Art Experience the 3rd -> @artwithohbe_ Unisa The Recent Acquisitions exhibition.

On the 5^th Aug 17 we were yet again honored with an invitation from Unisa Art gallery for their exhibition of  Recent Acquisitions

As we made way in the studio we were welcomed by a large sized portrait of a figure of a man in a black robe having two black whips in his hand. Well with art your interpretation of what you see is justified according to your own understanding of it, in this case rather I wish I knew what the photographer had in mind.

As the exhibition went along and opening speeches were spoken as well as the catering for snacks and wine was made available, we went along to observe other art pieces and admire the artistic creativity that they possess.

One particular art piece that captivated me and my team mate was the below piece by Aida Muluneh simply titled The 99 Series: Part one and part two. It was not for a fact that it is simple and personal with Bold colors, it’s because of how detailed and emotional it is that has drawn us to it.

The second was an art piece by Johannes Phokela with a simple tittle Exciting Recipes, well we admired the creativity on this art piece but we also could not help but notice the comparisons from two broad cultures, distinguishing the varied methods of bondage over casual gatherings. This one had us gushing smiles and awes for such thought and execution. Check the painting below. 

All in All, the exhibition yet again was well executed, coming to the gallery is always a refreshing exercise that bring no drop of sweat. This being pieces that Unisa has permanently acquired from Artists some of which were from the universities Art Students, I say it was well worth the Buck.
